Individual tuition

The instrumental lessons (piano, strings, winds, brass, harp, voice and classical guitar) are given by a first-class, dynamic and inspirational faculty, and focus on the needs and wishes of each individual students, helping them to further develop their musical and technical abilities. The friendly, motivating and supportive atmosphere provides the perfect environment to promote further discoveries and learning.

Chamber music

The chamber music lessons are one of the highlights of the Academy, bringing as they do people together for music-making. They are open to all instruments, and welcome both already-formed groups and individual musicians wishing to join others to make music together.

Masterclasses and workshops

Each student has the opportunity to participate in one of the masterclasses, which enables her/him to benefit from another teacher’s point of view. The workshops, on the other hand, offer participants the possibility of exploring one particular aspect of the musical world.

Improvisation

The improvisation classes (classical and free) bring a touch of freshness and spontaneity, whilst also promoting listening and communication skills, and inviting student to explore the fabric of the musical language.

Students’ concerts

Each participant has the opportunity of performing in one of the students concerts, enabling her/him the showcase all the progress accomplished during the Academy.

French conversation classes

Optional daily French conversation classes will be given throughout the Academy, giving participants the opportunity of discovering the language, and of improving their knowledge and command of it.

Sight-seeing and visits

Sight-seeing trips and visits will be organised during the Academy to enable students to discover the many beautiful sights of Geneva and its region. These activities will be fully monitored and supervised by the Academy’s staff.

Visits will include:

The ‘Jet d’eau’ (Fountain)

The Lake

The Old Town

Geneva by night

The Parks

The shopping precinct

The International Organisations Quarter

Meals and accommodation

A variety of accommodation options are available, which can be booked through the Academy. Over-18 participants are free to book their accommodation and meals through the Academy or be as independent as they wish. Unaccompanied under-18 students are requested to choose one of the accommodation options offered by the Academy, and can only take the course on a full-board basis.
